Starting a new business involves a lot of trial and error. We often have a very different picture of what life will be like as a business owner. Making your own hours… More money and free time… Dependable customers and an easy business flow.
If you’ve already taken the plunge then you know these grandiose depictions are rarely true. Business owners typically work more than their employees, rarely make as much money as they deserve and some customers are only as dependable as the deals you give them.
Today’s discussion is on the Lessons you have learned as a business owner, manager or employee. What was the first year of your business like? Did everything work out the way you thought it would or did you have to make some adjustments to your plan? We’d love to hear your stories and learn from your words of wisdom!
Sincerely,

interesting. I often get youngsters coming in to ask me for business tips and how to make lots of money. I normally sit them down and offer them a cup, of coffee. Ask them how their lives are and how they are getting on in life. about 99% of them normally say life is great and they are so excited about getting their business going….making money and having a good life. I then ask them how often they have starved…this is the part that they start becoming uncomfortable. when asked why I asked them such a question I normally respond to them with the following: We as a people only see the success stories out there….we never see the guts and determination it takes to make it. We never experience the fears and heartache of those successes we see of others….and most importantly we never see the times those successes had to starve to make it….and I mean starve…no food on the table and their young kids looking at them with questions. So if you aren’t prepared to starve (and your family with you)…stay out of business.
